HIGH HOLIDAYS: Yom Kippur

Join us in celebrating the climactic conclusion of the holy day of Yom Kippur with ancient ritual, wild dance, powerful song, and profound connection. Come with an open heart and prepare to go deep in this radical experience of transformation as we connect with the ancestors and each other, explore the contours of forgiveness, and regenerate as our radiant truest selves. 

No prior experience with Yom Kippur is necessary. Open to folks of all identities. 

⫸ LOOKS

Category is…. white, the color associated with death in the Jewish ancestral tradition. Go for a shroud, a Victorian wedding dress, a toga, t-shirt and short-shorts, angel wear, or whatever white sartorial confection makes you feel best ready for rebirth.

HIGH HOLIDAYS: Rosh hashana

Join us in the Heavenly Court for a once-in-a-lifetime immersive Rosh HaShana experience as we pursue justice for Isaac after his father, responding to what he claimed was a celestial command, bound and nearly killed him, leaving Isaac with lifelong psychological wounds. (This was 4,000 years ago, but better late than never...?) Get to know Abraham, Sarah, and the God of Patriarchy, and assist in the evaluation of their culpability. Thought-provoking theatrical performance rooted in ancestral wisdom + dance party + opportunities for deep connection.

Open to folks who are Jewish, Jew-ish, and not Jewish. No prior knowledge of Rosh HaShana necessary.

Using sacred texts and the power of our voices we'll explore the rituals of the mikonenet, the ancient female grief workers of the Jewish tradition. Led by Rabbi Amichai Lau-Lavie, Rav Jericho Vincent, and Spiritual Leader Shira Kline, featuring special guest Reverend Derrick McQueen.

People of all identies are welcome. No prior Jewish knowledge required.

! Join Temple of the Stranger for a joyous evening of dance, connection, and soundbath as we welcome the Sabbath together. This in-person event will take place at the Center for the Enlightenment Arts. Come dressed to move and read to connect and experience the magic of Shabbat through movement and music.
